Aussie first for pre-paid mobile users
SYDNEY, May 12 — Customers on Australian network carrier Telstra will be among the first in the world to control their pre-paid mobile service using a Facebook app.

“In just a few clicks customers can use the app to check their balance information, recharge with a stored debit or credit card and view up to 180 days of usage and recharge history. And should a customer run out of credit, they can ask their mates for a top up using the ‘request credit from friends’ feature which provides the option to put a call out on their Facebook wall or via a direct message,” said Warwick Bray, executive director, Telstra Mobile.
Facebook is due to launch its own App Center — a new space where people can find and download social apps through the social network — in the coming weeks. After the launch consumers can expect to see more and more companies bringing their apps on the Facebook platform.
Telstra is also getting ready to debut a new Android app, called the My Telstra Pre-Paid app, that helps customers manage their account directly from their device. — AFP-Relaxnews
