TomTom coming to Google Play store in October
BERLIN, Aug 30 — TomTom is set to debut its new Android navigation app at Berlin’s IFA; the app will be available to download in October.
Its integrated maps (TomTom, IQ Routes and HD Traffic) will provide up-to-date navigation services to suggest the fastest routes.
The news follows the recent launch of a hands-free TomTom car kit for smartphones that can both recharge your phone and hold your phone in a convenient place, providing instant access to the app’s data while you’re driving.
TomTom for Android’s maps will be updated every three months, and the app will take traffic into account when providing an estimate for the duration of the trip. Other features include advanced guidance for lane changes, audio announcements of street names and the ability to switch between 2D and 3D.
TomTom Europe is already available on for iOS devices for €89.99 (RM360), but TomTom has yet to communicate the price of the Android versions of the app on Google play.
Berlin’s IFA will open its doors to the general public tomorrow, and will wrap up on September 5. — AFP/Relaxnews
