NEW YORK, March 21 — TripAdvisor, the largest user-generated travel review site in the world, has struck a partnership with Samsung to be the only pre-installed travel app on the latest iteration of the Galaxy smartphone.
Owners of the Galaxy SIV will have access to the app straight out of the box when the phone releases, giving users access to millions of photos and 100 million reviews and opinions on hotels, attractions and restaurants around the world.
Users will be able to load details of hotels and flights from TripAdvisor into the phone’s calendar app, and the contact information for a hotel or attraction into the phone’s contact list.
The Samsung Story Album will also allow users to build a digital photo book, by connecting travel content to your travel photos.
Meanwhile, as of March 20, the top free travel apps in the US include Yelp!, Google Earth, Fly Delta and Expedia Hotels & Flights.
Recently updated travel apps include MapQuest Travel Apps, Travelocity and Bookings.com.
