Ritz-Carlton opens first hotel in Austria
VIENNA, Aug 28 — The Ritz-Carlton is opening this week its first hotel in Austria and its ninth in Europe with the new Ritz-Carlton Vienna.
The 202-room property is located on the central Schubertring Boulevard and is composed of four historic palaces dating back to the 19th Century.
The design of the hotel includes a restored marble staircase, as well as decorative mural paintings with wood carvings and panelling.
The hotel offers 158 guestrooms, 43 suites and a large Presidential suite.
Hotel amenities include a Club lounge, with private concierge service, a restaurant serving Austrian cuisine and a rooftop bar with panoramic views of the city.
The 18m indoor pool along with the fitness room, sauna and steam rooms are part of the recreational amenities. A Guerlain spa offers six treatment rooms with two of them for couples.
Staying at the Ritz-Carlton Vienna will cost guests from €359 (RM1,400) per night for a double room.
It is the 80th property in the portfolio of the luxury brand worldwide. This year the group has opened properties in Montreal (June) and on the island of Okinawa in Japan (May).
A number of luxury hotels are set to open in Vienna in the upcoming year.
The Palais Hansen Kempinski Vienna, located in a former mansion house on Schottenring, will open next spring, while the Park Hyatt Vienna, designed by architects Neumann and Partners interior design firm, is scheduled to open late next year. — Reuters
