Sex toys among items left behind in hotel rooms

September 16, 2012

ROME, Sept 16 — Forgetful hotel guests leave all kinds of items in their rooms, from electronic devices to magazines, but a new survey reveals some more surprising finds.

Chargers for mobile phones and other electronic devices are the most common items left behind by guests (68 per cent), ahead of clothes and shoes (21 per cent), books and magazines (8 per cent) and glasses (7 per cent), according to a survey conducted by Choice Hotels.

Some finds were more surprising: 18 per cent of hotel managers have already stumbled upon a sex toy and 15 per cent found dentures. The most unusual finds were pet dogs, ocular and mammary prostheses, a wedding dress, a leg of lamb and a frying pan.

Choice Hotels Europe conducted the survey in July, interviewing 130 volunteers, hotel owners, and receptionists in the chain’s hotels in the UK, France, Germany and Italy. — AFP/Relaxnews
