LONDON, Sept 8 – British Prime Minister David Cameron will fly to France today to be with his father who has fallen seriously ill while on holiday, Cameron’s office said.

Conservative leader Cameron had been scheduled to face his first question-and-answer session in parliament today after the summer break, but Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, leader of the Liberal Democrats, will fill in.

“The prime minister was informed this morning that his father Ian is seriously ill after suffering a stroke and heart complications while on holiday in France,” his office said.
