Nine hurt, 50 evacuated in Singapore hotel fire
SINGAPORE, July 16 — Nine people were injured in a fire today at a hotel in Marine Parade here which saw the evacuation of 50 people, The Straits Times (ST) reported.
ST said the fire, which occurred at about 9am, consumed a showroom at the lobby of East Village Hotel.
It said the nine injured, five adults and four children, were taken to the Singapore General Hospital.
Two Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) fire-fighters were also taken to the hospital for minor injuries and heat exhaustion, it added.— Bernama
